Fritiof Fryxell, a geologist from Illinois, first visited the Tetons in 1924. In 1926 he returned and for three summers studied the glacial geology of the Teton-Jackson Hole Region. In early 1929 at the request of Horace M. Albright, National Park Service Director, he wrote a text descriptive of the newly established Grand Teton National Park for an informational booklet being readied for early travelers. Shortly afterwards he was appointed seasonal ranger-naturalist to initiate an interpretive program in the park.>p> 140pp.
